1. Course Requirments
   A-level German or equivalent and A-level History

2. Unit courses
   Year 1: GE193 or GE194; one set of ML/GE linked units (2 units in total); HI 118 or HI119; HI120 or HI121; 2 HI units, one of which must relate to the pre-1750 period
   Year 2: GE194 or GE195; 2 GE units; HI294 and 2 other History units (1 GE unit may be replaced by an ML unit)
   Year 3: GE399 (project)
   Year 4: GE196 or GE 197; 2 GE units; 4 History units from a list specified by History Department (HI special Subjects)

3. Special requirements
   Year 3 will be spent abroad. (Part-time students will normally be expected to spend a total of 3 months in a country where the language is spoken nationally).
