Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Politics & Economic History
  1. Year 1
    Semester one:
    HI119, PO101, ST107, plus one option selected from an approved Social Sciences list.
    Semester two:
    HI120, PO102 plus two options selected from an approved Social Sciences list.

    Students may take HI138 as an option.

  2. Year 2
    Semester one:
    PO251; and either PO207 or PO203, second year history unit (counts as 2 units).
    Semester two:
    PO252 and ST222, second year history unit (counts as 2 units).

  3. Year 3
    In the third year eight units shall normally be studied and examined as follows:
    either A relevant History special subject (four units)
    Two level 3 Politics units
    Dissertation on an approved topic in Politics ( two units - PO399/PO398).
    Or a relevant History special subject (two units) plus a History dissertation (HI399 - 2 units).
    Four level 3 Politics units.

  4. First year units are examined at the end of the semester in which they are taught. Second and third year units shall count towards the final examination. In Politics and in Additional Subjects taught in the Faculty of Social Sciences each second and third year unit will be examined for finals in the year in which it is taken.
