Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Politics & International Relations
  1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:
    Semester one:
    PO101, PO105, ST107, plus one option from the Social Sciences list.
    Semester two:
    PO102, PO106 plus (subject to any prerequisites) two units selected from the Social Sciences list.

  2. Year 2
    Semester one:
    PO203, PO205, PO251. One further unit shall be selected from level 2 Politics options and other Social Sciences Units including Modern Language single unit options.
    Semester two:
    PO206, PO252, ST222. One further unit shall be selected from the list of second year Politics units.

  3. Year 3
    In the third year eight units will be studied and examined as follows:
    Semester one:
    Three units selected from the list of level 3 Politics units.
    Semester two:
    Three further units selected from Level 3 Politics units.
    Both semesters:
    Dissertation on an approved topic in Politics or International Relations (PO398/399). NB: At least one of PO305, PO308, PO324 must be taken.

  4. In years 2 and 3 a candidate can select in lieu of an optional Politics Unit up to two other Social Sciences units or Language units (subject to prerequisites) provided that only two such units are taken overall.
