Social Policy & Administration
  1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:
    Semester one:
    SS101, SS103, ST107 plus one option selected from the Social Sciences list.
    Semester two:
    SS102, SS104 plus one options (subject to pre-requisites) selected from the Social Sciences list.
    Both Semesters:
    SS106

  2. Year 2 (revised regulations will apply from 2002/3)
    Semester one:
    SS221 plus three units from: SS201, SS203, SS207, SS209, SS211, SS217, SS227 or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Semester two:
    SS218, SS220, ST222 plus one unit from: SS202, SS204, SS212, SS214, SS222, or other approved Social Sciences unit. Students must take at least one unit from SS222-SS227 and at least one further unit from this group or from SS211-SS217 or SS222-SS227.
    Both semesters:
    Students may take a single unit language option in semester 1 or a double unit language option over semesters 1 and 2 in place of stated options.

  3. Year 3 (revised regulations will apply from 2003/4)
    Semester one:
    SS303 and two approved units from the list of third year Sociology and Social Policy units offered in Semester 1 or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Semester two:
    Three approved units from the list of third year Sociology and Social Policy units offered in Semester 2 or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Both semesters: Dissertation (SS398/399) (two units). Students must select at least two units from SS317, SS342, SS352 Subject to provisions in the general regulations students may take a single unit language option in semester 1 or a double unit language option over semesters 1 and 2 in place of stated options.

    Note: With the exception of students opting to study a double language unit each year students may take a maximum of two units from the general list of Social Science units in years 2 and 3 overall.
