Accounting and French. Accounting and German. Accounting and Spanish combined into Accounting and Modern Languages (last entry 2000/01)
  1. Year 2
    Semester one:
    AM203, EC221,Language unit and Option from Language list
    Semester two
    EC102 (if EC101 taken in year 1); or AM or EC unit, (which may include EC104 but not EC102) if EC103 taken in year 1 AM204; Language unit and Option from language list.
    Students are required to pass all language papers before being permitted to enter year 3.

  2. Year 3
    Students will normally be required to spend Year 3 abroad
    1. on a SOCRATES exchange placement with one of the Department of Management's linked Universities;
    2. on a SOCRATES exchange placement with one of the School of Modern Languages linked Universities;
    3. otherwise as a University Student;
    4. in commerce or industry;
    They are required to complete a dissertation in their chosen language and other specified study.

  3. Year 4
    Semester one:
    AM303, permitted final year AM or EC option, Language unit and Option from language list
    Semester two:
    AM306 (if not taken as AM206 in year 2), permitted final year AM or EC option, Language unit and Option from language list ST304 is, for this purpose, considered to be on the AM list.

    Students entering Year 4 in 2002/3 will be required to take AM205, and one unit from AM310, AM312, AM316, AM320 instead of AM or EC options.

  4. Students who fail to reach the required standard in their language units at the end of year 2 will be required to transfer to the (three year) Management Sciences and Accounting degree programme. In year 3 such students must take AM301 and AM306 (if AM206 has not been taken previously), and may not take a single language unit in the language previously failed.
