Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Economics with Actuarial Studies
  1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:
    Semester one:
    ST105, ST111 an approved Economics unit, and one optional unit from: AM103, PL116, PO101, PO105, PY101, SS101, SS103 Modern Language (single or double unit - one unit per semester - available)
    Semester two:
    ST102, ST106, an approved Economics unit and one optional unit from: AM104, EC104, PL113, PO102, PO106, PY102, PY104, SS102, SS104, ST104 Modern Language (if double unit option taken)

  2. Year 2
    EC221, EC222, EC227, EC228, ST221, ST226 plus up to two units from the approved list of units other than EC units, subject to not more than 2 units from this list being taken in the second and third years together, and the remaining number of units from EC courses numbered EC223 to EC259 and AM courses numbered AM201-AM204, AM206-AM209, AM230 (if AM104 not taken).

    Subject to the provision specified in the general regulations a single unit language option may be taken in semester 1 or a double unit language option over both semesters (1 unit in each of semesters 1 and 2).

  3. Year 3
    EC363, ST303, either EC362 orEC368.
    Three units from EC369, EC372, ST307, ST320, AM330 (if AM230 or AM104 not taken), a single language unit, a double language unit (subject to provisions specified in general regulations), either Project/Dissertation (2 units) (EC398/399) or Project (ST398/399) (2 units), or Contemporary Problems (EC390, 1 unit), or single unit project ST323 (semester 1) or ST324 (semester 2) plus up to one unit from the approved list of units other than AM or EC units subject to not more than two units from this list being taken in the second and third years together.

  4. Each unit shall normally be examined at the end of the semester in which it is taken. Second and third year units shall count towards the final examination.
