Section 5: The Vice-Chancellor


  1. The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Council after consideration of a Report from a Joint Committee of the Council and the Senate.

  2. The Vice-Chancellor shall, subject to the provisions of the Statutes and Ordinances, hold office for such period and under such conditions as may from time to time be determined by the Council.

  3. The Vice-Chancellor may reprimand, fine or suspend any Student from any class or classes and may exclude any Student from any part of the University or its precincts. Every such suspension or exclusion shall be reported to the Senate at its next meeting.

  4. The Vice-Chancellor may resign by writing addressed to the Secretary of the Council.
