Institute of Sound and Vibration Research Audiology

  1. The requirements for entry to the course shall be a degree of any approved University, preferably in Physics or Acoustics or Electronics.

  2. The course shall, subject to Regulation 4 below, be one of full-time study beginning in October and shall consist of lectures, course work, which includes practical tuition and the clinical assessment of patients, and, for the degree of Master of Science (MSc), project work.

  3. Candidates shall satisfy the examiners that they have attained a high standard of clinical competence in their course work.

  4. By arrangement with the Head of Department the project work may be carried out in an establishment outside the University where it may be undertaken over a period of up to thirty months.

Applied Digital Signal Processing (Modular)

  1. Candidates shall normally be in full-time employment within an industrial organisation.

  2. Candidates may be registered for the degree of MSc, the Diploma of the University of Southampton, or the Certificate of Postgraduate Study.

  3. Candidates will undertake a total of twelve intensive 5-day modules (six core and six elective), plus a major project.

  4. The whole course will normally be completed within five years of registration.

Automotive Refinement (Modular)

  1. Candidates will undertake a total of ten intensive 5-day modules, (five core and five elective) plus a major project.

  2. The course will normally be completed within two to three years.

Biomedical Signal Processing (Modular)

  1. Candidates will undertake modules to make a total of 120 credits, plus a major project.
