Regulations for the shortened pre-registration Degree of Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) - Leading to Part 15
- The shortened pre-registration course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) - Part 15 (Child) shall be of one calendar year's duration.
- Candidates for admission to the course must be registered on Parts 1, 12, 13, or 14 of the UKCC Single Professional Register, and hold a minimum of 120 Level 2 credits. Admission to and continuation on the course is subject to specific status and health requirements. Students are required to inform the Head of School of health or other problems relevant to their education and training or employment as a health professional.
- In order to qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) candidates must have: satisfied the entry requirements; followed the one year nursing curriculum and passed all the required assessments and examinations; completed satisfactorily all practical work, clinical work and other coursework as required; and fulfilled all English National Board requirements.
- Candidates are permitted two attempts at each examination; further attempts are not normally permitted.
- The programme will comprise of eleven nursing units, 50% practice and 50% theory, and will yield 120 Level 3 credits. The programme will extend over the summer period and include 7 weeks vacation.
- Students shall be examined by means of in-course assessments, clinical assessments and formal examinations. All assessments from the beginning of the programme shall contribute to the final result and to the degree classification.
- A candidate who fails to satisfy the examiners at the end of the Single Assessment Part will normally be re-examined within three months.
- A list of successful candidates will be issued with the full names in alphabetical order arranged in the following classes and divisions: First Class, Second Class (upper division), Second Class (lower division) and Third Class.
