1. The post-registration course consists of required and optional Units of Learning. Each Unit of Learning has a specified CATS rating at Level 3* and is summatively assessed.

2. Students may normally register with the University to undertake Level 3 degree studies once the following admission criteria, and the Regulations for Admission to Degree Courses as specified in Section IV of the General Regulations, have been met:
   1. Effective registration with the UKCC as a nurse, midwife or health visitor
   2. Appropriate professional and academic study equivalent to 240 CAT credits* of which a minimum of 120 must be at Level 2.
   Admission to and continuation on the course is subject to specific status and health requirements. Students are required to inform the Head of School of health or other problems relevant to their education and training or employment as a health professional.

3. Normally students will complete the required studies within a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years.

4. In order to qualify for the degree, candidates must:
   1. Have satisfied the entry requirements;
   2. Have successfully completed an approved course of study, including passing all the required assessments;
   3. Have fulfilled all English National Board requirements.
5. The degrees of Bachelor of Nursing Studies (Hons) and Bachelor of Midwifery Studies (Hons) will be awarded to successful candidates as follows: First Class, Second Class (upper division), Second Class (lower division) and Third Class.
