Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Population Sciences
  1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:

    Semester one:
    ST101, ST107 Two other units from the Social Sciences list (see below).
    Semester two:
    ST102, ST104. Two other units from Social Sciences list (see below).
    Note: The other units must include at least one unit in Economics and at least one unit in Sociology and may not include ST102.
    Both semesters:
    Students may take a single unit language option in semester 1 or a double language unit option over both semesters (1 unit in each of semesters 1 and 2) in place of Social Sciences options).

  2. In the second and third years (Part II) a total of 16 units shall be completed. The following ten units are compulsory:
    Second Year: ST201, ST202, ST203, ST204, ST222.
    Third Year: ST306, ST308, ST315 and Project (double unit).

    The two project units can be counted as two units in Semester 1 (ST309) or one unit in each semester (ST398/399). Of the remaining 6 units, at least 2 and not more than 4, shall be from the following list of Population Sciences units. At least one unit from this list must be studied in each of the second and third years: ST211/311, ST213/313, ST214/314, ST216/316, ST218/ST318, ST219/319.

    Subject to limitations as specified in unit course listings for each Faculty, the remaining units may be chosen from those offered to second and third year undergraduate students by any Faculty in the University.

    In each of the second and third years, subject to the provisions specified in the general regulations a single unit language option may be taken in semester 1 or a double language unit over both semesters (1 unit each semester).
