Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Sociology
  1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:

    Semester one:
    SS101, SS103, ST107 plus one option selected from the Social Sciences list.
    Semester two:
    SS102, SS104 plus one option (subject to pre-requisites) selected from the Social Sciences list. Modern Language (if double unit option taken)
    Both Semesters:
    SS106

  2. Year 2

    Semester one:
    SS201 plus three of SS203, SS205, SS207, SS209, SS221, SS227. Modern Language (single or double unit (1 unit per semester) option available).or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Semester two:
    SS218, ST222 plus two of SS202, SS204, SS208, SS225 or other approved Social Sciences unit. Modern Language (if double unit option taken).
    Both semesters:
    Students must take at least three units from SS202, SS203, SS205, SS207, SS208, SS209.

  3. Year 3 (revised regulations will apply from 2003/4)

    Semester one:
    SS301 and two further approved units from the list of third year Sociology and Social Policy units offered in Semester one or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Semester two:
    Three approved units from the list of third year Sociology and Social Policy units offered in Semester two or other approved Social Sciences unit.
    Both semesters:
    SS398/399 (two units). Subject to provisions in the general regulations students may take a single unit language option in semester 1 or a double unit language option over semesters 1 and 2 in place of stated options.

    Note: With the exception of students opting to study a double language unit each year students may take a maximum of two units from the general list of Social Science units in years 2 and 3 overall.
