Regulations for the Schools of Social Sciences:
Economics and Management Sciences

1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:

Semester one:

MANG1003, an approved Economics unit (ECON1001 (without A Level) or ECON1003 (with A Level) and an approved Quantitative Methods unit (ECON1005 or ECON1007), one unit from Social Sciences list (excluding MANG1007, STAT1003)

Semester two:

MANG1008, MANG1004, ECON1002, an approved Quantitative Methods unit (ECON1006 or ECON1008)

Students may replace MANG1004 with MANG1001 and MANG1002

2. Year 2

Semester one:

MANG2001, MANG2006, ECON2001, ECON2005

Semester two:

ECON2002, one unit from: MANG2002, MANG2007, MANG2020, MANG2021, two units from ECON or MANG (excluding MANG2008) or Social Sciences list

3. Year 3

Semester one:

ECON3008

Both semesters: one and only one unit from ECON3007, ECON3012, ECON3013

2 units from MANG3002, MANG3017, MANG3005, MANG3007, MANG3008, MANG3010, MANG3013, MANG3014, MANG3032, MANG3016, MANG3018, MANG3033, MANG3039, MANG3034, STAT3002

either Dissertation/Project (MANG3025/ECON3023-double unit) or Contemporary Problems (1 unit ECON3021)

1 or 2 units from ECON3*** (excluding ECON3007, ECON3012, ECON3013) or MANG or Social Sciences lists

A minimum of 6 MANG and 6 ECON units (excluding Dissertation/Project and Contemporary Problems) must be taken over years 2 and 3 combined. A maximum of 2 units from the Social Sciences lists (excluding ECON and MANG) may be taken in years 2 and 3 combined. For these purposes the MANG list includes STAT3002.
