Regulations for the School of Social Sciences:
Economics and Mathematics

1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:

Semester one:
MATH1019, MATH1021, MATH1023, + An approved Economics unit (ECON1001 (without A level) or ECON1003 (with A level)

Semester two:
MATH1020, MATH1022, MATH1024, ECON1002

2. Year 2

Semester one:
ECON2003, MATH2011, MATH2001, + 1 unit from ECON or MATH list

Semester two:
ECON2004, ECON2007, + 1 unit from MATH list, + 1 unit from ECON2** or Social Sciences list (excluding MANG2008).

3. Year 3

Semester one:
ECON3010

Semester two:
ECON3009

Both semesters:
Dissertation/Project (ECON3023 – double unit) OR Contemporary Problems (1 unit ECON3021)
Balance of units from ECON3** or MATH social sciences lists

4. A minimum of 6 MATH and ECON units (excluding dissertation/project and contemporary problems) must be taken over years 2 and 3 combined. A maximum of 2 units from the social sciences list (excluding ECON) may be taken in years 2 and 3 combined.
