Regulations for the School of Social Sciences:
Economics and Politics

1. In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:

Semester one:
POLI1001, POLI1003
QM (ECON1005 or ECON1007)
+ 1 approved Economics unit (ECON1001 (without A level) or ECON1003 (with A level)

Semester two:
POLI1002, INTR1001
+ ECON1002
+ QM ECON1006 or ECON1008

2. Year 2

Semester one:
POLI2006, ECON2001
1 unit from POLI2005, INTR2001, POLI2002
+ 1 from ECON2** list

Semester two:
POLI2007, ECON2002
+ 1 from level 2 POLI/INTR units
+ 1 from ECON2** list
Students may take up to 2 units from the social sciences list (excluding MANG2008) instead of stated options

3. Year 3

Eight units shall be studied and examined as follows:

Semester one:
ECON3008

Both semesters:
1 unit from ECON3007,ECON3012, ECON3013
+ 1 unit from ECON3** (excluding ECON3007, ECON3012, ECON3013), (units cannot be taken if the corresponding unit was taken in year 2)
+ 3 POLI/INTR units (course units cannot be taken if the corresponding unit was taken in year 2)
+ Dissertation/Project (ECON3023/POLI3016 (double units)

Students may take 1 unit from Social Sciences list in lieu of optional units.
