| Entry Requirements |

Applicants for admission must hold a degree (minimum 2:1) or have other professional qualifications approved by the University. They must normally have at least two years' relevant practical or professional experience. |

| Scheme of Study |

This programme is governed by the University's General Regulations. |
| 3. |
The programme is part-time with a substantial time commitment to independent study in addition to attendance at the taught elements. |
| 4. |
The Diploma course is based on a unit structure. Each unit of learning has a specified CATS rating in according with the CATS Guide and Regulations. Students will undertake 8 x 15-credit units at level M. |
| 5. |
There is a minimum attendance requirement of 80% of all teaching in each unit of the programme. Candidates who fail to meet this requirement will be deemed to have failed the unit. |

The minimum period of enrolment is two years and the maximum period of candidature is five years. Any period spent in suspension will not count towards a period of candidature. |

| Assessment, Classification and Award |

Candidates will be assessed through course work and by other methods of examination approved by the Board of the School of Psychology. Assessments will cover a range of methods appropriate to the measurement of both academic and clinical skills. Students who fail an assignment at a first attempt (grade of less than 40%) have the opportunity to re-submit their work. Re-submitted work can only be given a maximum grade of 40%. |

All assignments must be successfully completed for the award of the Diploma or Certificate. |

The Diploma is awarded by Senate on the recommendation of the Board of the School of Psychology to candidates who have satisfactorily completed approved units totalling 120 credit points at level M. |
| 10. |
The Diploma may be awarded with Distinction if an average mark of over 70% is achieved over all diploma units. |
