- Except in those cases in which the Council decides that a joint committee of the Council and the Senate should be established to consider an appointment to a particular post the Head of each School shall be appointed by the Council from among the Academic Staff of the School concerned on the nomination of the Vice-Chancellor following consultation with the School: provided always that for what the Vice-Chancellor shall deem sufficient cause a temporary appointment of another member of the Academic Staff may be made by the Council.
- The Heads of the Schools shall hold office for such period and (subject to Section 31) upon such conditions as to re-appointment or otherwise as shall from time to time be prescribed by Ordinance.
