Except where an opt-out has been granted by the University (see below) the following academic regulations apply in addition to the General Regulations.

1. Admissions

The Programmes follow the University Regulations for Admission to Degree Programmes specified in Section IV of the University Calendar.

The normal requirement for entry to degree programme shall be a good honours degree or equivalent qualification. Candidates with other qualifications may be admitted by the Faculty and detailed entry requirements are provided on the Faculty's website.

2. Structure of Programme(s)

The Programmes follow the University regulations specified in Section IV of the University Calendar.

The full-time degree programme shall extend over a period of twelve months from day one of semester 1 of the year of entry. Where degree programmes may be taken on a part-time basis, these will normally extend over a period of up to twenty-four months from day one of semester 1 of the year of entry.

The Faculty Masters programme structure is based on 90 ECTS (180 CATS) consisting of taught modules and a dissertation equivalent.

3. Progression

The Programmes follow the University Progression Regulations specified in the University Calendar.

4. Assessment

The Programmes follow the University Regulations for Progression, Determination and Classification of Results specified in Section IV of the University Calendar.

5. Award of Qualification(s)

The Programmes follow the University Regulations for Progression, Determination and Classification of Results specified in Section IV of the University Calendar.

6. Placements/Study Abroad/Exchange/Fieldwork

Not applicable.

7. Other

As a research-led University, we undertake a continuous review of our programmes to ensure quality enhancement and to manage our resources. As a result, these regulations may be revised during a student’s period of registration, however, any revision will be balanced against the requirement that the student should receive the educational service expected. Please read our Disclaimer to see why, when and how changes may be made to a student’s programme.

Students’ attendance will be monitored as per the Attendance Regulations in Section IV of the University Calendar.
