The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.

On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.

  • Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
  • Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

Additional requirements are also listed.


Exemptions
The clause(s) listed below describe where an exemption to the General Regulations exists.
   
  The Year Abroad or the Placement Year of the following programmes are exempt from Section 5: Repeat of the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes.
  BSc Accounting and Finance with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc International Marketing (4-year programme)
BSc Marketing with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Marketing (SIM)
BSc Business Management with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Business Innovation with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Business Analytics with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Business Entrepreneurship with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Business Philosophy with Placement (4-year programme)
BSc Business History with Placement (4-year programme)
  Students failing their Year Abroad or Placement Year will not have the opportunity of repeat and will progress to Part 3 of the equivalent programme without placement.
