The regulations in Section IV (General Information and Regulations) and Section V (Higher Degree Regulations) in the University Calendar are applicable for the listed programmes.
On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.
- Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
- Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

| Additional Requirements relating to the award of Qualification |
| In order to qualify for the awards listed, candidates must additionally: |

Students are required to obtain an overall average mark of 55% or above in their taught component, together with a project mark of 55%, in order to continue in the research phase of that programme. Students who have passed their taught component but did not achieve an overall average mark of 55% or above may choose to take an MSc as an exit award, provided they have met the requirements of the University regulations for standalone masters. |
