The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.

On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.

  • Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
  • Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

Marks from Australian universities will be translated according to approved local marks translation policy for 2017/18.

The University standard Average Mark for a Part for undergraduate students on each Part of a programme is 40.

A candidate enrolled on these programmes must achieve an average part mark of 60% at the end of Part II.

Additional Requirements

Students enrolled on Part 1 of these programmes who have not studied Chemistry at A Level must take CHEM1012 Introduction to Chemistry. The marks from this module will not be used to determine the part average. However, a core pass of 40% must be achieved in order to progress to Part 2.

These regulations should be read in conjunction with the programme specification.
