The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.

On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.

  • Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
  • Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

Additional requirements are also listed.


Exemptions
The clause(s) listed below describe where an exemption to the General Regulations exists:
   
  BA (Hons) Fashion Design Dalian and BA (Hons) Graphic Arts Dalian are exempt from clause 5.4 under section 5. Repeat of the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes.
  Students do not have the right to repeat externally and must repeat internally.


Variations
The clause(s) listed below describe where a variation to the General Regulations exists.
   
  For the Programmes BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design, BA (Hons) Games Design and Art, BA (Hons) Graphic Arts, BA (Hons) Fine Art, BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing Management the following variation applies.

A student who fails to progress under paragraphs 3.1 to 3.4, and to whom 4.1 does not apply, may Refer in Failed Modules totalling at most 15 ECTS (30 CATS).
A student who fails to progress under paragraphs 3.1 to 3.4, and to whom 4.1 does not apply, may Refer in Failed Modules totalling at most 30 ECTS (60 CATS).
   
  For Programmes BA (Hons) Fashion Design Dalian and BA (Hons) Graphic Arts Dalian the following variation applies:

2.1 The University standard Module Pass Mark for undergraduate students taking Modules at all levels is 40. Where professional standards, including but not limited to PSRB requirements, require a Module Pass Mark that differs from the University standard this will be stated in the relevant programme regulations. Students transferring to Part 2 of UK programmes at WSA are required to pass the Module ARTD1101 Academic English for Art & Design with a mark of 50 or above in each component.
