The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.

On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.

  • Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
  • Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

Variations
The clause(s) listed below describe where a variation to the General Regulations exists.
Existing University Regulation Approved Variation
4.2 Progression, Determination and Classification of Results: Standalone Masters Programmes MSc Actuarial Science
A student who fails, after the application of Compensation, may take Referral assessments in failed modules totalling not more than 15 ECTS (30 CATS), excluding the case study modules MATH6xxx Case Study 1 and MATH6yyy Case Study 2. A candidate failing to achieve the Pass Mark in one or both of MATH6xxx or MATH6yyy may submit a revised Case Study on one occasion only. The mark for a re-submitted Case Study will be Capped at the Module Pass Mark.
