The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.

On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.

  • Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
  • Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

3.1 Progression, Determination and Classification of Results: Standalone Masters Programmes MSc Social Research Methods
In order to progress onto the +3 part of the award to study for a PhD, students will have to attain a mean mark for the taught part of the MSc Social Research Methods programme of 60 or above. This will be calculated after any referrals or supplementary assessments have occurred, following the Regulations.
